Boss Revolution Calling App provides more than 50,000 call minutes each day to its users. For this high traffic product which was initially launched without any personas, I had an opportunity to develop first time personas and I began from the scratch. These personas are developed with in depth data research and analysis, along with user and customer care interviews.

Goals

  • Align the elements in the personas with latest data.

  • Better understand our current users so Marketing, Product Owners and UI/UX team can make informed decisions regarding:

    • Product Roadmap Setting

    • Product goals

    • Marketing campaigns

    • Social media targeting

    • SEO Optimization

Challenges

  • Even with thousands of daily active users, it was difficult to reach out to users for interviews, I unfolded a 3 factor way using customer reviews, customer service chat transcripts and remote user interviews to gain user goals and frustrations.

  • Identifying exact user demographic data has been a difficulty which I overcame by analyzing the data from various platforms and validating it with Business Intelligence.

Boss Revolution Money Transfer App has ability of sending money to more than 45 countries around the globe. With a very unique set of target audience it was an amazing experience for me to develop personas for this App from the scratch.

Goals

  • Identify target audience based on current group of users using analytical tools and stakeholder interviews.

  • Focus on a specific persona from African countries and draw their motivations and needs.

Challenges

  • Most users of this App are also users of BR calling App and the attributes that match between them are very complex. I derived them by bringing in only the important elements in these personas.

  • There are limitations when we want data from a 'finance product. Overcoming this challenge has added some potential skills to my pot.
