User Scenarios & Flows

Before you start designing screens for your new website or app, it’s interesting to know your users and set the purpose of your digital product. Some examples of goals may be for the customer to contact your institutional site, buy a product from your online store or subscribe to a service on your platform. These two aspects are the ingredients for making good user flows.

However, for the projects I was working on they never had any user flows or scenarios made. It gets difficult when the updates keep coming and we add more number of elements to the product. To be able to precisely make these changes without hurting the user experience it is important to always have user flows and scenarios. Another such thing is to do an analysis of competitor’s flow to provide better service than others.

Goals:

  • Eliminate friction points in the user flow to smoothen the user experience.

  • Create different possible scenarios for all use cases keeping users goal in mind. Users must be able to perform all actions without hesitation.

  • Develop Competitors flow and compare with our current flow and conduct usability test.

  • Create a user flow for a web portal used by retailers, and walk personas of retailers through the flow. Through out the process note any pain points identified.
